IceTec has assisted Santé in increasing the load capacity of their robots, that are used for processing orders and inventory handling. By switching from aluminium to a rigid and durable plastic, the weight of the robotic arms was reduced significantly, resulting in their increased load capacity.
IceTec has printed two robotic arms for Santé, both for a small and a large robot. One of the arms was partially designed by IceTec, where the design from Santé was improved with the manufacturing process in mind. Both arms were printed using the BigRep VII0250 3D printer, from PLA plastic on one hand, and from carbon fiber–reinforced plastic on the other hand.
