It was a festive occasion at Tæknisetur on March 24, when the presidential couple visited the facility and learned about its operations. They toured the specialized facilities and equipment operated by Tæknisetur and met representatives from many of the 32 companies currently based there.

Guðbjörg Óskarsdóttir, CEO of Tæknisetur, gave a brief presentation on the organization’s activities. In her talk, she emphasized the importance of providing a strong support environment for tech startups that require access to specialized facilities and equipment in their early stages—one of the core roles of Tæknisetur. Jón Hjaltalín Magnússon, founder of Arctus Aluminium, introduced his company and discussed its collaboration with Tæknisetur on the development of carbon-free aluminum production. The presidential couple also visited Tæknisetur’s electrolysis laboratory.

The President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, addressed the entrepreneurs and encouraged them in their work. She brings extensive experience in this field, including her involvement in the FrumkvöðlaAuður initiative, of which she was one of the founders. The visit also gave the presidential couple the opportunity to meet representatives from several companies at Tæknisetur and learn about their product development.
